So, I would consider myself lucky to go a college that has a lots of resources for a learning animator, editor and producer like moi. Being a person who wants to get into the business of film, cinema, animation, visual effects and pure awesomeness, I thought taking the path down the workspace of many professionals would hurt.
I have signed up for the 2014 Creative Suite (got a student discount too whoo!) and I love how I am able to access all the Adobe programmes. Yes, ALL Adobe programmes. Is this heaven?
Programmes that I have been working on are Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects, Audition and Flash. First hand, I realised that I had a massive learning curve to fall into. All programmes got me scratching my head just from trying to start a new project.
I've been working in my new workspace for about 3 weeks now, and it's been fun, frustrating, but mostly fun to put myself in the position of most professional creative masters out there. I have discovered that there are heeps of things I could do in these programmes that I can't do elsewhere. No wonder why they cost as much as they do, I suppose.
After immersing into Adobe, I understood the company's quality, passion and why so many professionals choses to create with them. I also realised that 3 weeks of experience just aren't gonna cut it. I have much to learn about these beautiful softwares and I can't wait to dip my fingers into more of their pies.
As a digital painter, painting in Photoshop was a dream. The software is also amazing at photo editing (duh), I've been using it create thumbnails for my fan videos. For example, the Beyond This World thumbnail. The programme's smooth, has many features and very fast to work with (unless you have a mac, in that case the rainbow spinning wheel of death can prove to be a bitch sometimes).
I mostly use InDesign for my A Levels Media coursework. It's great for creating professional magazine pages, like what I am doing. I love the accuracy and quality I could get from using this programme. I found it complicated at first but I found that it was worth working with to the result that I got.
Oh golly, what to say about Premiere. As a video editing fanatic, I feel like I've struck gold in my journey to find the best video editing programme. I love this software so much. It's fast, smooth as silk, so versatile, and so damn easy to use! I was scared of going into it considering past experience with other advance editing programmes like Final Cut and Sony Vegas, which I didn't like at all. I love Premiere, I feel like I've just adopted a new baby... a rather clever and large baby who knows more than I do.
Again, I've struck gold! There is nothing this programme can't do! Out of all the programmes, I've been having more fun sticking my fingers into this particular pie. I've created animations, sequences and special effects with this and very easily too.
Audition is a life saver. I also love how I could interchange between Premiere and Audition while editing a video too. Not only have I used it for audio in video, but I've been creating remixes of songs for fun. I love the programme so much, I've been on there creating pointless dubstep remixes (and I don't even feel bad that I'm wasting my time).
